About Dr. Carney
Dr. Robert D. Carney enjoys a multi-faceted career that spans both academia and the entertainment industry. As performer and educator, he has appeared across the U.S. and Europe, while his students have garnered top prizes in regional and international competitions. As an academic, Carney has presented at major international conferences in Europe, Canada, and the U.S., for organizations such as the College Music Society, Music Teachers National Association, European Association for Music in Schools, the World Piano Conference, and others. After 12 years at Southwest Baptist University, where he rose to the rank of tenured full professor and served as Chair of the Department of Music, Carney transitioned from that role in 2022 to work fulltime in the management and creative side of the music industry.
